Maihar Sharda Devi Temple stands on the Trikuta hill in Maihar and is reached by a long flight of steps or a ropeway. It is counted among the Shakti Peeths, where the necklace of Sati is believed to have fallen. Maihar is also known as the home of the great musician Baba Allauddin Khan, who is said to have received the Mother’s blessing for his art.
