Sacred History & Legend

Naina Devi Temple is one of the Shakti Peeths, standing on a hill in the Shivalik range near Anandpur Sahib. Tradition says the eyes (nayan) of Sati fell here, which gives the temple its name. The shrine sees large crowds during the Navratri fairs, and devotees reach it by road, stairs or a cable car.
